If It’s Meant To Be, Then It’s Meant To Be

I am a firm believer in the idea that if things are meant to be, then they are meant to be.

How easy it would be for us to just have all the answers before we take a test. How easy it would be for us to be able to see what’s behind a door before we open it. How easy it would be to be able to peer into a mind of a person to know just how they think and feel about us. Think of how powerful you would be if you just managed to look ahead into the future and know what lies ahead for you.

How comforting it would be for me to just take a peek into what’s in store for the both of us – for our relationship. I want to be able to look at us 50 years from and see if we’re still at each other’s side. I want to be able to look into the future and check if it’s us who are kissing at the end of an aisle after our wedding. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. There’s no point in wishing and wondering about these things because they’re fantasies. They’re virtual impossibilities at the present moment. There’s not much we can do about these personal desires right now. Nothing is set in stone. Things can change. People change. Feelings can change. And also, I wouldn’t want to speed through any phase of our relationship. As much as I would want to know if you and I do eventually end up spending the rest of our lives together, I would rather just sit, wait, and enjoy whatever journey we’re meant to be taking. I’m not going to compromise the thrill and excitement of living a life of uncertainty with you for the security and comfort that comes with knowing that we’re both going to turn out alright.

So we’ll take the long road. We’ll go through the necessary process. We will navigate our way through unconquered territory. We will try to survive unknown waters. We will go through it with a healthy doe of uncertainty, but also hope. This isn’t the kind of hope that is blind. This isn’t he kind of hope that ignores all the potential speedbumps and problems that the future might bring. This isn’t the kind of hope that is ignorant of the challenges that may come our way. This is the kind of hope that sees all of the difficulties that we are going to have to overcome – but still endures. This is the kind of hope that believes in the invisible hand that is working its wonders on us and our universe.

I am a firm believer in the idea that if things are meant to be, then they are meant to be. I genuinely have faith that if the universe wills for us to be together in the end, then the end is exactly where I’m still going to find you. It won’t matter what kind of challenges are going to be thrown our way. It won’t matter whatever hurdles you and I are going to have to jump over. If fate says that you and I will come through all of this alive, then we are going to come through it alive. If you and I were truly meant to be, then we would have nothing to worry about. It may take a lot of effort. It may take a lot of time. Hell, we might even doubt ourselves along the way. But somehow, you and I are going to find a way to pull through because that’s what the universe wants for us both. We may not get everything right every single time, but we’re definitely going to get things right in the end.

And if you really think about it, that’s all any of us really have. We don’t have absolute certainty, but we cling to the belief in fate and in destiny. And if you truly desire something with all of your heart, then the universe rewards you and conspires in your favor – so as long as you’re willing to put in the time and the effort to make everything work out for yourself. You also have to be willing to get your hands dirty and the universe is going to recognize your efforts.

But you also have to know that you can’t force fate to do what it won’t. You can’t choose at what time destiny will decide to act. You can’t dictate just how the universe is going to react to your wishes. Perhaps you might not be getting what you want right away, but you still have to maintain the belief that you’re going to get it eventually.

You have to remember that just because the both of us are destined to be together doesn’t that it’s going to be a smooth ride along the way. In fact, we might not even find out that we’re really destined to be together until late in the future. But no matter how long we have to wait, I just know deep in my heart that we are going to turn out fine. And whatever we have will be infinitely beautiful.
