I am not going to sugar coat this in the slightest because unrequited love is one of the most shittiest things you will ever experience in your entire life. Being so helplessly in love with someone who doesn’t love you back is a like stepping on a piece Lego with your bare foot a million times over…it is really that shit.
Unfortunately, whilst overcoming unrequited love, you will still suffer similar effects to that of a break up, you will lose sleep, lose concentration and you’ll waste several hours sobbing over uneaten corn-flakes. Red wine all over a sudden, becomes your bestest and dearest friend in the whole wide world, it is really that bad!
Unrequited love and rejection of any kind is a horrid thing to experience, but it is incredibly crucial not to dwell on these feelings for far too long, the longer you hold on to an idea with false hope, the longer it will crush you. By doing this, you are simply not allowing something more beautiful to develop in your life.
Please learn to let go. I know it’s hard, but you really must learn to let go for your own sanity. The longer you hold on to something unnecessary, the more emotionally damaged you will become in the long run. If you truly love that one person, you will let them go regardless of how you feel and allow them to become fulfilled, free and happy. By letting someone go, you will also learn to become more fulfilled, free and happy yourself. Don’t waste your time and energy in something that clearly isn’t going to happen, use this time and energy to look after yourself. Never be unkind to the person who doesn’t love you back, it isn’t their fault that they do not feel the same way as you do and by being unkind, you are only damaging yourself with unnecessary animosity.
Eventually over time the pain will subside and you will become free of all the heartache you had initially experienced. You will become strong and whole again and you will find that special someone who will love you just as much as you love them.
